National Brain Research Centre, Gurgaon invites applications for admission to the PhD and Integrated M.Sc. – PhD in neuro Science programmes for the year of 2014 at National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Gurgaon, Haryana:

Eligibility:
PhD (Neuroscience):

  • Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer applications/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science/ Psychology, from a recognized Institute/University or A minimum of four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine from a recognized Institute/University.
  • Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Only the candidates with at least 55 per cent (for SC/ST/PH candidates, 50 per cent) marks or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered. Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points without rounding off to determine their eligibility.

Integrated M.Sc. – PhD (Neuroscience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer applications/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science/ Psychology/ Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine from a recognized Institute/ University.
  • Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
  • Only the candidates with at least 55 per cent (for SC/ST/PH candidates, 50 per cent) marks or equivalent grade from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered. Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points without rounding off to determine their eligibility.
  • Reservation/Concessions for SC/ST/PH candidates will be followed as per Government of India rules.
  • Only Indian nationals are eligible for the above programmes.

Application Procedure:

  • Application procedures vary according the categories of JGEEBILS, GATE-2013 / GATE- 2014, JEST-2014 and CSIR-JRF- Chemistry (2013-14). The procedures can be read at http://www.nbrc.ac.in/admissions_2014/admission_2014.pdf
  • Candidates who are eligible as per the eligibility criteria of NBRC for both Integrated M.Sc.-PhD and PhD programmes, if interested, may apply, by filling separate online application forms at www.nbrc.ac.in ( by using different e-mail id) / offline application forms and by paying requisite fee separately for each programme.
  • The application fee should be submitted by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, National Brain Research Centre payable at Gurgaon or Manesar. The candidates should send the Demand Draft to Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122051 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana). Please write your name and course applied for on the back side of the Demand Draft. JGEEBILS candidates should write their reference code also on the back side of the Demand Draft. GATE candidates should write their GATE Roll Number with year of examination also on the back side of the Demand Draft.

Last date of application for JGEEBILS: 20th October 2013
Application opens at NBRC: 15th September 2013
Last date to fill (Online/Offline) application form at NBRC: 16th December 2013
Last date for receipt of both online & offline applications along with Demand Draft, at NBRC: 26th December, 2013
Online/Offline Application opens for NBRC, for GATE Applicants: 28th February 2014.
Last date to Online/Offline application to NBRC for GATE Applicants: 15th April 2014
Last date for receipt of both online & offline applications along with Demand Draft, at NBRC: 25th April 2014

Candidates short-listed for the interview will be informed latest by May 2014. The interviews are likely to be held in the month of May/June 2014. The interview dates will also be published on the NBRC web site.
